James Brown "Get On The Good Foot"

It feels right that the Make It Funky blog should open up with a track from the Godfather of Soul himself. After much deliberation I decided on Get On The Good Foot, as it sums up fairly well all that's great about the hardest working man in show business. Slick beats, groovy bass line, funky horns and the most infectious guitar lick ever. Probably my favourite James Brown tune.

Released as a single in 1972 on Polydor, it charted at No 1 in the R&B charts and was his first "official" gold disc. It also featured on the album of the same name that came out that year (which was, amazingly, his 39th Studio Album).

Which James Brown tune would you have picked?
