Archie Bell & The Drells "Strategy"


If you're going to pick a Disco record, 1979 is probably the right year to start - a prolific year for great disco. Kenneth Gamble and Leon Huff's Philadelphia International Records is also a pretty safe bet, the home to the likes of The O'Jays, Harold Melvin And The Blue Notes, Dexter Wansel, Teddy Pendergrass and Archie Bell & The Drells. Strategy, taken from the album of the same name, is a 98 bpm disco groover that has been re-edited multiple times in recent years (most notably on the Get Down Edits series and by Touchsoul and marked the end of Archie Bell & The Drells' commercial success as a group.
